Willow provides support today for those who cannot wait for tomorrow’s cure.

In 2012, an estimated 22,700 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada. These women will need answers to questions regarding their treatment options and how to learn to live with the disease. Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada answers the tough questions while at the same time offering empathetic support and encouragement to the woman diagnosed, her family, friends and caregivers.  We have built a community of support that empowers people to not only survive breast cancer, but thrive.

For almost 20 years, Willow has provided encouragement, education and empowerment to the breast cancer community.  We believe that no one needs to face breast cancer alone and understand the importance of connecting with someone who has “been there.”  Our services and programs are available to anyone who needs them across Canada free of charge:

  • Peer Support: A toll free helpline (1.888.778.3100) answered by breast cancer survivors who have lived through a diagnosis and are a little further down the road on the breast cancer journey.  Experienced in answering a wide range of questions, the peer support team can provide information needed to understand a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment options, access support in their community or offer suggestions about how to support someone with breast cancer.
  • Community Support Program: Trains women across Canada to start and sustain breast cancer support groups in their communities.
  • In Our Genes Program: responds to the unique needs of those at risk or diagnosed with hereditary breast or ovarian cancer (HBOC) by providing peer support, information and resources
  • Information Service: We create customized information packages tailored to each person’s specific need such as how to cope with side effects, risk management options, clinical trials, treatment options, nutrition, risk management or breast reconstruction.
