No longer does “look it up” refer to reading through an encyclopedia or textbook. In 2012, “look it up” is as simple as opening your web browser. Countless times a day we search for information regarding everything from clinical studies to celebrities. Now, thanks to two young Canadians, your search could make a difference!

In early 2012, bigheartedsearch.com was born. This new search engine allows users to search the internet while helping raise money for charity. Built on the Yahoo! platform and powered by Microsoft’s Bing search engine technology, bigheartedsearch.com donates 50% of its sponsored search revenue to selected charities across Canada.

These charities are divided into 8 categories, giving Canadians the chance to support almost any cause that is dear to them, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, children’s health, the environment, or education. A user simply chooses the cause they would like to support by selecting the corresponding header.

Willow Breast Cancer Support Canada has been selected as one of the breast cancer organizations to receive donations from bigheartedsearch.com. Simply select the pink tab to help support Willow, as well as other breast cancer organizations. These donations go towards making sure no one has to face breast cancer alone. Learn more about Willow at www.willow.org.

72% of Canadians say they cannot afford to give larger donations to charities. Bigheartedsearch.com opens the door to the support of amazing causes and communities, giving every Canadian the opportunity to make a difference.
